Biography

Jazmi Jamal is a cultural technology consultant and technical lecturer actively involved in providing strategic insights to the Prime Minister’s Department regarding AI transformation initiatives. He champions the integration of cutting-edge technology to enhance, preserve, safeguard, and propel Malaysia's cultural and creative economy to thrive in the digital era.

In his current capacity at the National Academy of Arts, Culture, and Heritage (ASWARA) under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Jazmi serves as the Director of the Future Creative School, managing future-upskilling programmes (eASWARA) and the Digital Heritage Sandbox (DHX). In 2014, he became the youngest individual appointed as the first Dean of the Faculty of Animation and Multimedia at ASWARA.

His unique blend of experience has secured RM 60 million in funding for socio-cultural development projects from related bodies such as World Economic Forum (WEF), ASEAN, the Asia-Europe Foundation, AWS, Adobe, ToonBoom, and Google Education. His track record includes securing impactful projects and demonstrates his ability to translate socio-cultural initiatives into tangible outcomes through collaborations with entities such as Huawei International, BMW, CelcomDigi Berhad, Maxis Berhad, Crown Prince of Selangor Foundation, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Khazanah Nasional, and MCMC, among others.

His insights are further sharpened by credentials from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in critical emerging technologies and executive digital leadership training, alongside his Professional Technologist designation from MBOT. He holds a PhD in Creative Multimedia with a specialisation in digital game arts, a Master of Multimedia (eLearning Technologies), and a Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons.) (Digital Media) from Multimedia University.

His research interests include digital game studies, educational technology, interactive media design, and creative content production management. He has published books titled “Cultural Futurists", "Cultural Intelligence", and “Unreal Heritage”.
